A great big thank you to all of those that contributed to these FOCS Fundraisers!
The COVID pandemic continues to create financial challenges. We have an event center and we could not have the in-person events that are a primary source of revenue. Something had to be done! We couldn’t have Oktoberfest but we needed a fundraiser to increase our revenues and at the same time keep our community safe. Sponsoring an online auction called “Winterfest” and participating in “Giving Tuesday” the National Giving Day for Non-profits, we hoped would fill the gap. It worked!
Biggest thanks to our amazing membership, community businesses, and the community at large for donating items to the auction and participating in the auction bidding. The items donated were fantastic, unique, and diverse. Participants from across the State bid on beautiful art including an original Eric Wiegardt watercolor, a bushel of steamer clams, gorgeous wood bowls, local restaurant certificates to name a few. A bidder from Skamokawa said, “It was the best online auction of the year!”
FOCS gives a huge thank you to Keleigh Schwartz and her Auctria auction staff at Beachdog.com. Additional thanks for software support from the Rotary Club. We are so grateful. We wouldn’t have had these online fundraisers without their ideas, expertise, and hours of building and managing the online auction software. Thank you.
We are looking to target the Giving Tuesday dollars towards a landscaping project for the Historic Chinook School grounds. We got a good start on funding this project and hoped to continue to add to the revenue in 2022.
Thanks for all the good work!
